This is a blog for beginning cooks. If you live by yourself and want to make cheap, fast meals, this is the place for you. You won’t have to chop vegetables or use formal recipes. I go by “Nonnie’s Rule”, named after my grandmother. The rule is that you create dinner using a pinch of this and a sprinkle of that. You learn quickly how to judge how much you use. Very seldom will you need to measure out things. I also go by the diet plan recommended by the American Heart Association: 1 fist full of protein, 2 fists full of veggies, and a little starch. For the most part I encourage people to use real food, that is butter instead of margarine, for instance.
