Food Chopper

I hate chopping stuff. Most good cooks seem to love chopping. I guess I’m not good enough of a cook to love it. I also don’t like lots of electric appliances. So, I use a manual hand food chopper. I just break down the pieces to they fit in the chopper and pound my hand down a few times to chop. I use mine to chop celery, bell peppers, carrots, and other stuff that isn’t squishy. It’s also good for making croutons out of dried bread.

I have no idea where to get one of these. I got mine, which looks similar, at one of those 99 cent stores, though mine cost $4 something. Regardless, it does the job and much cheaper than one of those $20 to $30 fancy looking jobs you see on the food shows. Just run it under hot water to clean if you’re using veggies that aren’t squishy. You don’t want to touch the blades if you can help it. Shake the water off and put it into your dish drainer.
