Garlic goes very well with chicken. It also goes well with beef. Some of the lighter fish such as white fish, halibut, cod, etc., are excellent with garlic. Avoid using garlic with fish that already have intense flavors such as salmon, tilapia, tuna, mackerel, herring, etc.
Because I like to have use canned and frozen rather than fresh stuff because I don’t want things to go bad, I use minced garlic in the jar. It keeps for a long time in your refrigerator. I also have a bottle of dry garlic powder for a quick dash of flavor.
