Oatmeal is good for you. Yeah, you could cook it on a stove for 5 or 10 minutes, but I prefer the instant kind. I take my mixing bowl, put some water in it, and dump a bunch of oatmeal into it. I then stick it in the microwave for about 2 minutes.
Toppings can include sugar, of course. I’ve also used the juice from can of pears, chocolate syrup, and my favorite, instant coffee! Strawberry jam, or basically anything sweet can work, too
BUT, have you thought of salting it and putting in some curry powder? Make it a savory breakfast! Or you could mix some pesto sauce into it. Remember, that oatmeal is a base; it’s not sweet, so your condiments don’t have to be sweet. They can be savory.
I also like oatmeal with imitation bacon bits (I prefer them to real bacon bits.)
This, of course, is a box of Quaker Oats. There are many other fine oatmeals on the market and they don’t vary much from one maker to another. Quaker is the most heavily sold and most widely available, though.
