Tuna salad is good to spread on bread or to combine with pasta. If you have some fresh veggies to make a salad, you can mix in some of this tuna salad to add an extra punch to it.
What I like to do is take a can of tuna (albacore, yellowfin, or tongol), dump it into a bowl. I mix in a big gob of mayonnaise, chop up some onion (or use onion powder), and grind some black pepper into it. Some folks use hot dog relish. That’s fine, but it’s not quite my style. Hamburger relish works better, I think. Use it or not. One thing you might try is a dash of curry powder; that’s worked for me. Tuna is already salty so you don’t want to add anything salty. If you feel like chopping something, chop up some celery and mix that in. Tuna salad will keep for over a week in your refrigerator when you cover it.
